Swats Booker Prize II

I hope you guys enjoyed my last post...here is my second part of the awards....hope you enjoy this...

10) The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot
This is one of the coolest books I have ever read. I know my mom doesn’t approve words like coolest to describe anything except something that came out of her fridge, but this book..this book….
It was such a personal human account of something that could be so dreary if just written about. It made the science more human and a human story we could all connect with. This account made me want to have an alternate career as a science writer. I’ll probably write a post about the book, stay tuned.

9) Palace if Illusions by Chitra Divakaruni
I have gone on and on about the Palace of illusions. Here is my post

8) Hotel/ Airport by Arthur Hailey
Arthur Hailey might be one of my absolute favorite authors of all time.  he wrote some of great classics like Hotel and Airport. Personally I love Hotel more than any of his books, but Airport has the most nail biting finish.
To me, these books  remind me those awesome summer holidays during school, when life was all about chilling, reading and relaxing.

7) Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell
Winner of the best non fiction
Mind blowing ladies and gentlemen. Read my post here

6) The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein
The touching tale of the Enzo, the  philosopher dog with a human soul.  This will make you laugh through your tears. The art of racing in the rain is a beautifully crafted and captivating look at the wonders and absurdities of human life…..as only a dog could tell it… a must read for everybody who  believes that having  a four legged friend is better than having a baby.

5) The Billion Dollar Molecule by Barry Werth
The most realistic writing tale of the birth of Vertex Pharmaceuticals and the the pressures and joys of working for a small biotech start up where the emotions of scientists vacillate as much as the success of the experiments.

4) The Murder of Roger Arkyold by Agatha Christie
Winner of the best  book in the thriller category
Read it, I cant talk about it till you do

3) Anne of Green Gables by L M Montgomery
Winner of the best series…ever… red hair mean sooo much more to me because Anne

2) Kane and Abel by Jeffrey Archer
Kane and Abel is a saga, its an epic, truly an epic…..the story spanning six decades of two men born into oppsite sides of the world in opposite circumstances on the same day. The saga of rivalry, enmity and eventually deep respect that comes from being rivals for an entire lifetime.

1)To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

If you know me, you know this is my absolute favorite book on earth. A powerful story told through the innocent eyes of a five year old. Have you met anyone who didn’t worship Atticus Finch?
