Swats Booker Prize (ehhhemmm)...Part I

Dear Dreamers,

I just realized it was July!! And I hadn’t posted for more than a month! Time is not just flying by, it’s a supersonic jet whizzing by. And while I still do do my absolute favorite thing in the world, I haven’t come across any earth shattering books in recent times.
So here is a list of my favorite books!! Just in case your looking for some good reads

20) Tara Road -  Maeve Binchy

Maeve Binchy was my favorite writer in my late teens, and Tara Road, one of my favorite books. She gave me a taste of Dublin and other parts of Ireland while being firmly rooted in Mumbai. She also made me want to learn about the cultures and lifestyles of people of this world without being too preachy about it. Other favs from this author- Cooper Beech , Circle of Friends.

19) Sister of my Heart- Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni

This book is an emotional tale of two sisters who grew up together and have their lives twisted in a way only women are capable of twisting. This book tugs at your heart strings and makes you laugh and cry…

18) A thousand Splendid Suns - Khaled Hosseini

Kite Runner won the accolades, Thousand Splendid Suns was the best kept secret.

17) Doctors by Eric Segal.
This book holds memories for me, it reminds me of that early time when I was so in love with biology, that all I wanted to do was become a doctor….old times…good times

16) Love Story by Eric Segal…
yeah im that girl

15)The Final Diagnosis - Arthur Hailey

The final diagnosis is a book about a hospital, focusing on the  pathology labs. We always focus on the physicians, surgeons, the people on the front lines. We often miss the people in the labs, who do the difficult diagnosis- that life changing decision of many a people that rests on these oft tentative tests, and all you can rely on is the  expertise, experience and wisdom of the doctor.

14)Something Blue/ Something Borrowed – Emily Griffith

This is a chick lit if there ever was one. Somehow, something about this book struck home. I find it close and relatable and gives me the sense that everything is going to be ok.

13) Honor Among Thieves -Jeffrey Archer.

Oh boy! This book, this book…the drama, the excitement, the fist pumping finish. I don’t remember much about this book but I do remember the adrenaline rush, the trembling as you turn the page, and the ultimate satisfaction that thank God that there is Honor Among Thieves.

12) The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo ( series) – Winner in the Best Book Trilogy Category.

Twilight  and other such  nonsense series. I have nothing left to say.

11) Mahabharata

Well I’ve told you before how much I love the Mahabharata right? Read this
