After the millionth snow day ...

Dear Snow God or To Whomsoever it may concern,

I think we need to talk. Im writing this after giving this a lot of thought, and I think we need to take a break.
When we started out earlier this season in November, it was beautiful. Our time came in short sprinkling doses, and we were excited about spending time with each other. You know how it is when a new relationship begins. Typically couples tend to grow apart, but in our case I think we spent a little too much time together. That’s when things started going downhill for me.

 We have spent a lot, a LOT of time together. I think we have had 10 stormy encounters in a few short months, and while it was exciting at first, I think frankly we people kind are running out of names.
I think the only way to give this a shot, is if next year you are in this part of town, then pay me a visit, we can spend an evening together, maybe. I don’t know yet, I need some time away from you.  I think maybe have a few rebounds with spring and summer. But we are definitely not meant to be a long term couple.

Usually I write about how the book, but this time Im going to talk about the author. Tracy Kidder is a literary genius..I kid you not…I realize I may have sounded like one of those people who throw the amazing and fabulous and other such superlatives around…but Tracy Kidder is truly an incredible genius. It was after reading ‘Mountains beyond Mountains’ and ‘ Strength in what Remains’ that I realize the powerful role that a writer plays in a book. Usually the author is the God of the book- he knows what has happened, what will happen and what twist of plot awaits for us. The writer is always in full control of the how the book will unfold and end… I know this makes sense for fiction , but even for non fiction, the author always has a point to prove and he proves it. Tracy Kidder on the other hand is always a part of the book, he never makes himself or his interactions with the subjects larger than life. Welcome Back!

 Hi Guys and Girls,  I know I have been missing for a while. ok....for a loooong while. How have you been doing for the past couple of years? How has life treated you? How has covid treated you? Are you going stir crazy ? Or are you enjoying this new pace of life? Since we last spoke, my life changed a little bit. I met the man I was meant to marry. We spent a few crazy years flying back and forth across 3000 miles. We found the Golden State beckoning to us, and both of us moved here. and after 10 glorious years in Boston I moved to California to build a new life. Now in a new state, with a new life and yet to make new friends, I found myself missing some chunks of my Boston life. Mostly my friends, but also writing. While I never stopped reading books, I most definitely stopped writing.. And here, today, I start again. Welcome back! And Thank you for Staying :) Love ~S
